Nepali footballer Sajan Dangol, who lives in the United Kingdom, has set two rare world records in football juggling, with his latest achievement recently registered in the Guinness World Records.
Dangol first set a world record on February 16, 2024, by juggling a football 2,218 times in one hour in Birmingham, UK. He set his second record on May 15, 2026, by continuously juggling a football for six hours, 22 minutes and 59 seconds without letting it touch the ground, using both feet alternately.
Speaking at a press conference in Birmingham on Sunday, Dangol shared his journey in football, struggles and achievements, as well as his experience climbing Mount Everest. The event was titled ‘From the Football Pitch to the Summit of Everest’.
Born in Tokha, Kathmandu, Dangol began playing football at an early age. He started his football career in the Under-14 National League and played for several Nepali A Division clubs, including Brigade Boys, Manang Marshyangdi, Friends Club and Bansbari. He was also selected for the Under-19 national team but could not represent the country at the national level due to health problems and injuries.
After completing his BBA in Nepal, Dangol moved to the UK in 2021 for further studies. He completed a master’s degree in Management and International Business from Birmingham City University in 2022.
He continued playing football in the UK, representing clubs including Birmingham Tigers, Saltley Stallions and Guru Ravidass in semi-professional and non-league competitions. He currently works as a fruit quality technician.
Besides football, Dangol has also fulfilled his childhood dream of climbing Mount Everest. He climbed Lobuche Peak, which stands at 6,119 metres, on April 19, 2025, before reaching the summit of Everest on May 14, 2025.
Dangol said his parents’ struggles had inspired him to pursue ambitious goals. He attributed his achievements to consistent practice, hard work and self-belief, saying people should challenge their own limits rather than set boundaries on their abilities.
At the event, facilitator Bibek Khati discussed Dangol’s football career and world records. His colleague Dinesh Thapa and other fellow players also praised his dedication and determination.
A short video documenting Dangol’s life, football career, Everest expedition and record-breaking achievements was screened at the programme. Janaki Sinjali also shared details about a documentary being made on his life.
Dangol expressed gratitude to his family, friends, coaches and colleagues for their support and encouragement.
