Ten people have gone missing in the Budhigandaki flood that occurred early this morning today. The flood also swept away six bridges- two motorable and four suspension bridges.
Assistant chief district officer in Gorkha, Netra Prasad Sharma, told RSS that the flood swept away the motorable bridges of Arughat, Tripurasundari and Soti-Manbu.
The disaster also swept away a Bailey bridge connecting wards No. 1 and 3 of Dharche Rural Municipality in Gorkha. Other damaged footbridges include those connecting Machhikhola to Karauja; Thadobharyang to Jagat; and Ghattekhola to Philim in Gorkha district.
The flood washed away nearly 35 houses from Painyu and Bagar of Chumnubri Rural Municipality-3. It also damaged settlements at Jagat, Salleri, Dovan and Ghattekhola.
