Kathmandu, September 29
Nepal’s campaign in the men’s cricket tournament at the 20th Asian Games in Japan has ended in the quarterfinals after their match against Sri Lanka was abandoned due to rain.
The third quarterfinal between Nepal and Sri Lanka was scheduled to begin at 5:45 am local time, but persistent rain prevented the match from getting underway.
With the match cancelled, Sri Lanka advanced to the semifinals on the basis of their higher ranking.
Nepal’s Asian Games campaign therefore came to an end at the quarterfinal stage.
