Kathmandu, September 27
Ten people have gone missing after an avalanche struck Himlung Himal in Narphu, Manang, on Sunday morning.
According to Manang Assistant Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Poudel, the avalanche occurred on Sunday morning. All 10 people reported missing are Nepali nationals.
“We received information that 10 people went missing after being caught in the avalanche,” he told Onlinekhabar. “We have received information that all those reported missing are Nepali. A helicopter has also been deployed. It dropped rescuers at the reported site of the avalanche and returned. Another helicopter is heading there again.”
The District Administration Office, Manang, said the group had travelled to the area through Alpine Trek and Travels.
