Kathmandu, September 27
The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) has urged tourists heading on trekking routes to travel with licensed guides, except for short-distance routes.
ACAP issued the request after floods and landslides increased risks in several parts of the conservation area.
Tourists have been advised to undertake trekking and travel within the conservation area with authorised guides. However, guides are not mandatory for travel to Jomsom, Muktinath and Ghandruk.
According to ACAP, entry permits for the Annapurna, Manaslu and Gaurishankar conservation areas have started being issued from noon today.
However, ACAP said entry permits will be issued only after assessing road conditions and weather conditions in the respective areas.
The project has urged tourists to check local conditions and follow safety instructions before travelling to trekking destinations affected by recent floods and landslides.
