The raging flood of the Kaligandaki River has completely swept away the concrete bridge. Ramesh Dutt Awasthi, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, reported that the motorable bridge linking Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-7 Mirmi in Syangja with Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-1 Harmichour in Gulmi has been lost to the waters.
In response to the heavy rainfall, all gates of the Kaligandaki ‘A’ hydropower project in Mirmi, Syangja, have been opened. As a result, the project has halted power generation. He also mentioned that the Setiveni market at the confluence of Syangja, Parbat and Gulmi was flooded.
