Kavrepalanchok, September 25
The BP Highway has been completely blocked at several locations in Kavrepalanchok following continuous rainfall that triggered landslides and mudslides.
According to Police Inspector Nikita Kumari Mishra, chief of the Area Police Office in Mangaltar, landslides have blocked the highway at Chowkidanda in Namobuddha-6, Charsaybesi in Roshi-7, Gimdibesi in Roshi-8 and Mamti in Roshi-11.
Mishra said the ongoing rainfall is likely to delay efforts to clear the landslides.
Police have urged travellers to check the condition of the highway before setting out.
Meanwhile, the water level of the Roshi River at the Panuti water measurement station has crossed the warning level and continues to rise.
The local administration has urged people living downstream and in areas prone to flooding to remain alert.
Chief District Officer Gopal Kumar Adhikari said the Roshi River crossed the warning level in Panuti, according to information received from the Flood Forecasting Division.
