Continuous rainfall has triggered landslides at seven locations along the Prithvi Highway in Dhading district.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Prakash Dahal, information officer at the District Police Office, Dhading, the highway is completely blocked at two locations, while traffic is operating on a single lane at the other five.
Landslides have occurred at Krishnabhir, Parewabhir, Jamireghat, Jahare, Jabang Khola, Tigrang Khola and Kamerebhir, Dahal said.
“Landslides have occurred at seven locations along the Prithvi Highway. The road is completely blocked in both directions at Krishnabhir and Tigrang Khola,” Dahal told Onlinekhabar.
Authorities are using two pieces of equipment to clear the landslide at Krishnabhir.
However, clearing debris at the other locations has been difficult as rainfall continues and fresh landslides are occurring, Dahal said.
