Kathmandu, September 22
The Infrastructure Development Committee under the House of Representatives of the Federal Parliament has decided to form province-level subcommittees in all seven provinces.
The meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Committee Chair Ashish Gajurel formed provincial subcommittees to effectively monitor, study and evaluate projects and programmes being carried out at the provincial level in areas within the committee’s jurisdiction, including infrastructure development, energy, water resources and irrigation.
The subcommittees will study and monitor the progress, management and implementation status of projects and programmes running in their respective provinces, as well as coordination with stakeholders. They will also study the protection of public property and whether government bodies are working in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations, and submit reports and necessary suggestions to the committee.
The committee has instructed the subcommittees to prepare fact-based study reports by carrying out site visits to relevant projects and locations, holding discussions with relevant bodies and stakeholders, and interacting with experts and researchers.
