Made in Mind Series III: Narratives of the Contemporary, a group exhibition featuring 15 multidisciplinary artists, explores contemporary realities through themes including personal experience, memory, culture, identity, politics, society, ecology and technology.
Curated by artist Manish Lal Shrestha, the exhibition at MCube Gallery, Chakupat brings together works in painting, sculpture, installation, photography, printmaking, textiles, video, sound, performance and mixed media.
The exhibition examines how narratives change through personal memories, history, imagination and everyday experiences. It also focuses on the Nepali context, where traditional cultural practices intersect with technological change, migration, urbanisation, changing lifestyles and global influences.
According to the gallery, the exhibition does not seek to present a single perspective on contemporary life but brings together diverse voices and viewpoints. The artworks are intended to encourage dialogue, reflection and engagement rather than offer fixed answers.
Participating artists include Bidhata KC, Bijay Maharjan, Kailash K. Shrestha, Kapil Mani Dixit, Kaushal Joshi, Manish Lal Shrestha, Nirvita Shakya, Roshan Bhandari, Roshan Mishra, Roshan Pradhan, Samana Rai, Sarita Dangol, Sanjeep Maharjan, Saurganga Darshandhari and Sushma Shakya.
Amid the impact of floods in Nepal, the exhibition also encourages visitors to support affected communities through donations and essential supplies, particularly for children and girls.
The exhibition that began on September 4 concludes on September 21.
