Prachanda: Preparing for new movement against government

Kathmandu, September 18

Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party (NCP), has said they are preparing to launch a movement against the government.

Addressing a gathering of the farmers’ federation affiliated with the NCP, he accused the government of starting repression and excesses.

“There is a need to form a broad united front and launch a movement against the repression, excesses and atrocities being committed by the so-called new government. We are also preparing for that,” Prachanda said.

He further told party leaders and cadres that they were holding continuous discussions with various political parties, intellectuals and civil society as part of the preparations. He said the discussions were moving in a positive direction.

“I want to make it clear to all the comrades and leaders that we are continuously holding discussions with various political parties, intellectuals and civil society as part of the preparations. Things are moving forward in a positive direction,” Prachanda said.

He also said everyone should resolve to defeat counter-revolution and take the revolution to a new height.

“There is a need for all of us to make a new resolve to defeat counter-revolution and take the revolution to a new height. We are currently in that process,” he said.

Prachanda said a new movement should be launched after the festivals, taking into account the situation in the country at that time.
