Kathmandu, September 6
The bodies of 244 people who died in the Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa on August 26 have been brought to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.
Dr Gopal Chaudhary, head of the hospital’s forensic laboratory, confirmed that 244 bodies of flood victims had been brought to the hospital.
Of the 244 bodies, 161 have been temporarily managed, while 24 identified bodies have already been handed over to their families and relatives, Dr Chaudhary said.
Fifty-nine bodies are currently at the hospital. The hospital said some of the bodies are yet to undergo postmortem examinations and will be managed after the examinations are completed.
