Kathmandu, September 3
Electricity supply in Nuwakot, which was disrupted following the devastating Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa, has been restored in around 90 percent of the district.
The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation said electricity supply has resumed in most parts of Nuwakot.
According to the ministry, additional areas were brought back onto the grid after the Chapali–Devighat right circuit was charged.
Electricity supply has also become more reliable in most parts of the district, with voltage levels improving, the ministry said.
The areas where power has now been restored include Ward 6 of Bidur Municipality, around half of Ward 3 of Bidur, Wards 1, 5 and 6 of Tarkeshwar Municipality, Wards 2 and 3 of Tarkeshwar, and Ward 7 of Belkotgadhi Municipality.
An additional 31 transformers have also been charged, according to the ministry.
However, electricity supply remains to be restored in Ward 12 of Bidur Municipality, the remaining half of Ward 3, Kispang Rural Municipality, Ward 8 of Belkotgadhi Municipality and Ward 10 of Bidur Municipality.
The Energy Ministry said it has been carrying out repair and restoration work to resume electricity supply following damage to power infrastructure caused by the flood.
