British Ambassador to Nepal Rob Fenn paid a courtesy call on Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam on Wednesday.
During the meeting held at the ministry, they discussed the irreversible losses caused by climate change and the significant risks Nepal faces as a result.
Minister Gautam said Nepal would prioritise making development more disaster-resilient in the aftermath of the unexpected floods. She expressed confidence that friendly countries and development partners would continue their support for sustainable and resilient development.
On the occasion, Ambassador Fenn expressed condolences over the loss of life caused by the unexpected disaster triggered by the Bhotekoshi floods and stressed the need to make efforts to locate people who remain missing more effective.
Ambassador Fenn also expressed the UK government’s commitment to continuing cooperation and coordination in development and reconstruction efforts through financial, technical and human resources.
