Kathmandu, September 2
India has sent its fifth batch of assistance to support rescue and relief efforts for people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa.
Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar said on Wednesday morning that the fifth consignment of aid had been dispatched to Nepal by air.
He said the aircraft was carrying an 11-member rescue team equipped with specialised search and rescue equipment, along with 5.5 tonnes of essential medicines.
Earlier, on August 30, India had sent its fourth aircraft carrying 11 tonnes of relief supplies and a technical team for flood-affected communities.
Rescue and relief operations are currently underway at an accelerated pace in Nepal. India, along with various other countries and international organisations, has been assisting in the affected areas.
