Kathmandu, September 2
The bodies of 1,114 people who went missing in the devastating Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa on August 26 have been recovered, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
The figure was released in the Authority’s 9 a.m. bulletin.
According to police, the bodies were recovered from eight districts: 41 in Rasuwa, 155 in Nuwakot, 59 in Dhading, 348 in Chitwan, 66 in Gorkha, 38 in Tanahun, 217 in Nawalparasi East and 190 in Nawalparasi West.
The Authority said 3,916 people remain unaccounted for, while 292 people have been injured.
So far, 11,993 people have been rescued from the flood-affected areas.
