Nepal has requested assistance from Singapore in identifying flood victims.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lok Bahadur Chhetri announced at a press conference on Monday that the government has sought technical assistance for victim identification.
He said Nepal has also requested DNA testing support from the United States and high-capacity equipment from China and Singapore.
The Ministry said additional specialised equipment is expected soon from Japan and South Korea as well.
According to Chhetri, rescue and relief materials have so far been received from India, China, France, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, and other countries and partners. He said further supplies and support are also on the way from the United Nations, the World Health Organisation, and UNICEF.
The assistance includes rescue equipment, freezers, solar lights, testing kits, chains, blankets, sleeping bags, food, and medicine.
A special rescue team from India has been deployed to the affected area, and the Ministry said a South Korean team has also been mobilised on site.
Chhetri added that Nepal expects to need international support for post-disaster recovery and reconstruction as well.
The Ministry said the resources required to rebuild homes, roads, bridges, hydropower projects, and other infrastructure will be determined based on the extent of damage caused by the flood.
