24 people from Kanchanpur reported missing after Rasuwa floods

Kathmandu, August 27

Twenty-four people from Kanchanpur have been reported missing following the devastating floods in Rasuwa.

The District Police Office said it has received information that 24 people have been unaccounted for in the floods.

DSP and spokesperson Tek Bahadur Rawat said relatives of the 24 people contacted the police to report them missing.

“Since the Rasuwa floods, relatives of 24 people have contacted us,” he told Onlinekhabar. “Those reported missing include Nepal Police personnel, Nepal Army personnel and workers employed at hydropower projects.”

According to spokesperson Rawat, relatives of three people from Baitadi and Dadeldhura have also contacted the District Police Office to report them missing.

Kanchanpur Police had issued a notice and published six contact numbers to facilitate the search and rescue of people who were in the flood-affected areas and could not be contacted.

Rawat said relatives of people who were in the affected districts for work contacted the police through those numbers to provide information about their missing family members.
