A total of 115 individuals from 14 disaster-prone households in Bajura district were shifted to safe areas as a landslide buried two houses at Katigaun in Gaumul Rural Municipality in the district.
The houses of Purnimal Bohara and Budi Bohara were destroyed in the Katigaun landslide that occurred on Thursday afternoon following heavy rain, according to District Police Office spokesperson Naresh Bahadur Shahi.
Shahi said that 115 individuals from 14 households in nearby areas were shifted to a safe site after the increased risk of landslides there. They have been kept in temporary huts. Likewise, the Chairman of Gaumul Rural Municipality, Hari Bahadur Rokaya, said that a team has been mobilised from the rural municipality to ensure relief materials for the affected people.
