Circular sent to local levels to ensure availability of free medicines

The government has issued a directive to ensure the availability of free medicines and related supplies at health institutions at the local levels as part of basic health services. The Ministry of Health and Food Safety sent the circular to all local levels through the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

The ministry has shared with local levels a list of medicines and medical supplies needed to run basic health services, along with details on managing them. It said the move aims to ensure health institutions at the local levels distribute medicines free of charge and maintain their availability throughout the year, and has asked local levels to manage the supplies according to their responsibilities as outlined in the attached list.

The circular includes a detailed list of medicines and other medical supplies required for basic health services. Local levels have been asked to ensure the availability, storage, and free distribution of the necessary medicines at health institutions under their jurisdiction.
