Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradeep Paudel has urged all factions within the party to come to the table to resolve the ongoing internal disputes through political dialogue.

Issuing a statement on Friday, Paudel said disagreements within the party should be resolved through political discussions rather than by taking them to the streets or the courts.

He warned that the country could face a major political crisis if the Nepali Congress fails to remain alert and united at a time when the country is going through a challenging period.

Paudel urged dissatisfied leaders, party workers and supporters to come to the party headquarters in Sanepa and discuss their differences.

“This is not the time to take our differences outside the party or wait at the doors of the courts. I believe the disputes within the Nepali Congress are not, and should not be, matters for the courts to resolve,” Paudel said in his statement.

Paudel appealed to dissatisfied leaders, activists and supporters to bring their differing views to Sanepa, which he described as the party’s common home.

“I humbly request all respected dissatisfied leaders, committed party workers and dear supporters to come to the party’s common home in Sanepa with their differing views,” he said.

He also acknowledged that all sides share collective responsibility for the party’s past shortcomings and called for the differences to be addressed through dialogue.

“Let us sit together in Sanepa and engage in sincere dialogue. We all share collective responsibility for the mistakes of the past, and we must acknowledge that as we move forward,” Paudel said.

He called for the Nepali Congress to hold its upcoming 15th general convention on schedule and accept the leadership chosen by party members.

He said the party should remain united to strengthen democracy.

“Let us complete the 15th General Convention on time, accept the leadership entrusted by the general members and move forward together to further strengthen democracy,” he said.

Paudel also warned that division within the Nepali Congress would weaken both democracy and the country.

“At a time like this, dividing ourselves under various pretexts means weakening democracy and the country itself,” he said. “If we fail to correct our mistakes in time, history will not forgive us.”
