The Nepali Congress parliamentary party in Koshi Province has decided to withdraw its support to the provincial government.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Congress parliamentary party on Wednesday.
The province is currently governed by the CPN-UML and Nepali Communist Party after their alliance with the Nepali Congress broke down.
Nepali Congress Chief Whip Gopal Tamang confirmed that the parliamentary party meeting decided to withdraw support from the government.
He said the Nepali Congress will now play the role of a constructive opposition in the provincial assembly.
