Senior Nepali Congress leader Gopal Man Shrestha has passed away at the age of 83. He died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment at Helios Hospital in Jawalakhel.
Former Gandaki Province Minister Mekhlal Shrestha confirmed the death of the former Deputy Prime Minister. He said that Shrestha’s body will be kept at the Nepali Congress central party office from 8 am to 11 am on Wednesday for party members, supporters, and the public to pay their respects.
“Afterwards, a funeral procession will accompany the body to Pashupati Aryaghat, where the final rites and cremation will be conducted,” Mekhlal Shrestha wrote on Facebook.
On July 23, Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa announced that Gopal Man Shrestha had been appointed as the party’s Senior Leader.
