Central Security Committee meeting decides to conduct aerial patrol on election day

Kathmandu, March 4

A meeting of the Central Security Committee held at the Ministry of Home Affairs has concluded.

According to Joint Spokesperson of the Home Ministry, Rama Acharya, the meeting decided to conduct aerial patrols on the election day tomorrow. “The meeting has just concluded. It has been decided to conduct aerial patrols, keep helicopters on standby, and leave no gaps in security arrangements,” Acharya told Onlinekhabar.

The meeting was attended by Central Security Committee Chair and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, Home Secretary Raj Kumar Shrestha, Defence Secretary Kedar Nath Sharma, chiefs of security agencies, and senior officials of the Home Ministry. Discussions were held on the current situation, election preparations, and overall law and order.

Earlier this morning, Minister Aryal had also held a virtual meeting via Zoom with Chief District Officers from all 77 districts to assess the situation.
