Government to cover treatment costs for election security personnel

Kathmandu, February 25

The government has decided to provide free medical treatment to security personnel and election police injured during the upcoming elections.

Government Spokesperson and Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal said the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday decided that all medical expenses incurred in the treatment of security personnel injured during the election period will be borne by the government.

“Medical expenses for security personnel and election police injured during the elections will be covered by the Government of Nepal,” Minister Aryal said while announcing the Cabinet decision.

He also stated that the Cabinet has decided to provide financial assistance to the families of any security personnel who die during the election period.

“If any security personnel lose their lives during this period, their families will be provided with financial assistance,” the Cabinet decision states.
