UML to use electronic voting machine in 11th General Convention

Kathmandu, December 4

The CPN-UML is set to use electronic voting machines (EVMs) for leadership selection in its upcoming 11th General Convention.

UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali stated that electronic voting machines will be used this time as well to make the leadership selection process faster and smoother.

Previously, UML had also used electronic voting machines in its 10th General Convention held in Chitwan.

“We have decided to use electronic voting machines for leadership selection,” said Deputy General Secretary Gyawali. “The tender process has already been completed. Soon, the decision on which company will provide them will be finalized.”

In this convention, UML will elect 251 central committee members, including 15 office bearers. Around 2,200 representatives are expected to participate in the UML General Convention.

The UML General Convention will be held in Kathmandu from December 13 to 15, 2025. The opening ceremony of the convention will take place at Sallaghari, Bhaktapur, and the closing session will be held at Bhrikuti Mandap.
