Mustard blossoms turn Bethanchowk’s hillsides into a stunning tourist attraction

Kathmandu, November 30

Bethanchowk’s Narayansthan is one of the highest regions in Kavrepalanchok district. Just as Bethanchowk Narayan is known for its elevation, the area is naturally very beautiful as well.

From the heights, the view of the mountains and the lush green hills captivates anyone who visits.

In the areas of Dhunkhark, Gairi bhanjyang, Chyamrangbesi, and Gumwadanda, located at the foothills of Bethanchowk Narayan and Gajaram Mountain, the farmlands have turned yellow with blooming mustard flowers. The terraces and fields here, covered with mustard crops, are now fully blanketed in yellow.

The scenery of blooming mustard has been attracting many visitors in Bethanchowk Rural Municipality

Domestic and foreign tourists have been visiting the area to enjoy the natural beauty of Bethanchowk Narayan, Gajaram Mountain, and the Himalayas.

Kamal Nepal, operator of Mount Mahabharat Homestay & Retreat, said that domestic and international tourist attraction has increased due to the scenic views from the region.

“Narayansthan and Gajaram Mountain attract tourists for their Himalayan views, but the yellow mustard fields have also fascinated visitors,” Nepal said to Onlinekhabar. “Although the number of Nepali and foreign tourists had decreased after the Gen-Z protests, in the past few weeks, a surge of domestic tourists has appeared. The increasing number of visitors coming for sightseeing has given us some hope.”

The thriving mustard cultivation has also boosted the morale of local farmers. Besides mustard, potatoes, radishes, and other vegetables are also grown in the area.
