Kandara press meet

Kathmandu, November 11

Kandara has announced a special music program titled “Kathmandu Calling Kandara.”

Under this program, the band will perform at XO Club in Thamel on Friday ( November 14). This will be the band’s second performance in Kathmandu in its 32 years of existence.

The announcement was made at a press conference held on Monday. The program “Kathmandu Calling Kandara” is being organized by Vishishta International in collaboration with XO Club and High Entertainment.

At the press conference, the band’s lead singer, Bivek Shrestha, said the concert is part of the band’s upcoming theme, “Rhythm of Change.” He explained that this theme is linked to the country’s cultural, economic, and social changes.

“The country is on the verge of change. Through music, we want to contribute to this transformation,” said Shrestha. “This concert is our voice. The show at XO will be the first concert under this theme.”

Shrestha added that performing at a club is not just about entertainment, but also an attempt to connect with the youth.

“A club is not only a place for dancing and singing, it aligns with the demands of today’s youth,” he said.

Last year, the band held its first Kathmandu concert at LOD in Thamel.

Shrestha also shared that over the next month, the band will tour across Nepal and then in various countries abroad as part of the “Rhythm of Change” tour. According to him, the band is preparing to tour the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asian countries.

At the XO Club concert, the band will perform their hit songs, along with sharing messages of the “Rhythm of Change.” The band views this concert as an opportunity to connect with the youth.

Shrestha stated that from now on, Kandara will not only focus on entertainment but also on entertainment with social impact.

“We are now doing social impact entertainment,” he said. “The band is preparing to move forward in this direction.”

The band’s lineup includes Bivek Shrestha (lead vocals), Sunil Thapa (drums), Avinash Gaikwar (madal), Pankaj Jha (bass), Sandesh Mujo (guitar), Neel Ghatani (keyboard), with Simos Tjya as sound engineer and Naveen Thapa as technical expert.

At the press conference, the band also announced that their upcoming album will be titled “Kavis Sanga Kandara.”
