The Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship (Nabil SSE), in collaboration with the School of Management, Tribhuvan University (SOM-TU), has announced applications for the sixth cohort of its Fellowship and Certificate Programs aimed at promoting social entrepreneurship and empowering disadvantaged communities across Nepal.

According to a press statement released by Nabil Bank, the fellowship, a six-month intensive program, equips aspiring and existing entrepreneurs with the skills, mentorship, and financial linkages necessary to transform innovative ideas into sustainable social ventures. The program welcomes applications from Nepali citizens aged 18 and above working in sectors such as agriculture, tourism, digital innovation, green enterprises, healthcare, education, and crafts.

It added that this year’s cohort places greater emphasis on enterprises that uplift individuals living in extreme poverty and marginalised communities. Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to social inclusion and dedicate three to four days per month over six months, maintaining at least 90 per cent attendance.

The fellowship offers participants access to mentorship, finance, market linkages, and networking opportunities. Over the past four cohorts, Nabil SSE has trained 76 fellows, supported the establishment of 62 enterprises, generated more than 14,500 jobs, and seen its fellows receive 12 national and four international awards.

Alongside the fellowship, Nabil SSE has also opened applications for its “Certificate Course on Social Entrepreneurship”, a 14-day program spread over three months. The course focuses on fostering entrepreneurial mindsets and developing sustainable business models, particularly among individuals from economically disadvantaged and targeted communities.

Since its inception three years ago, the certificate program has trained 1,069 individuals, resulting in the creation of 131 social enterprises across all provinces. The course is being conducted through partnering colleges in each province, including Mahendra Morang Adarsh Multiple Campus in Koshi, Campion College and Budhanilkantha School in Bagmati, and Surkhet Model College in Karnali, among others.

The enrollment for this year’s certificate course is centered on province-specific themes such as “Advancing High-Value Agri-Ecosystems” in Koshi, “Farm-to-Market Enterprise Acceleration” in Madhesh, “Digital Innovation and Green Enterprise Development” in Bagmati, and “Tourism Beyond Mountains” in Gandaki.

Each participant is required to pay an enrollment fee of Rs 2,000 to the partnering college. Applicants must possess a basic understanding of Nepali and English and be willing to invest 14 days over three months to complete the program.

Applications for both the Fellowship and Certificate Course are open until November 14. Interested individuals can apply by visiting www.nabilbank.com or scanning the QR code available on Nabil SSE’s social media pages.
