With consensus reached on forming a new government, activity has increased at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas.
Vice President Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan, senior government officials, representatives of Gen-Z, and members of the diplomatic corps have arrived at the presidential residence.
Preparations are underway for government formation and the first cabinet meeting, according to the President’s Press Adviser, Kiran Pokharel.
The chiefs of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and the National Investigation Department have also reached Sheetal Niwas.
Ahead of the swearing-in, work is ongoing on drafting the appointment letter, the oath-taking procedure, and the decisions to be made in the first cabinet meeting.
Although preparations point to a small cabinet, the names of the members are still being kept confidential.
Discussions between the agitating Gen-Z, former Chief Justice Sushila Karki, President Ramchandra and his team, and the Chief of Army Staff concluded shortly before.
Outside Sheetal Niwas, there is a strong presence of journalists.
