Authorities have issued a flood alert for settlements along the Mohana River in Kailali district, warning residents to remain vigilant throughout the day as the water level continues to rise.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has sent SMS alerts to people in high-risk areas, urging them to take necessary precautions.
As of 7:30 AM today, the water level at the Mohana River’s gauge station reached 3.06 meters — surpassing the warning threshold of 3 meters. The danger level is set at 3.60 meters. With the river still swelling, authorities have called for heightened caution.
