Rastriya Swatantra Party membership reaches 140,000 in just 26 months

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced that its membership has reached 140,000 in the 26 months since its establishment.

During the national assembly, which began on Tuesday, Acting General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti presented an organisational report highlighting that Bagmati Province has the highest number of members, while Karnali Province has the lowest.

According to the report, Bagmati has 41,334 members, Koshi has 22,856, Madhes has 11,433, Gandaki has 19,203, Lumbini has 23,303, Sudurpaschim has 16,677, and Karnali has 5,386 members.

Burlakoti also mentioned that the party has established its presence in 148 of the 165 federal constituencies during this period.

The report states that organisations have been formed in 69 out of 136 municipalities in Koshi, 46 out of 136 in Madhes, 93 out of 119 in Bagmati, 42 out of 85 in Gandaki, 76 out of 109 in Lumbini, and 52 out of 88 in Sudurpaschim.

Burlakoti proposed a schedule to hold the party’s first general convention in Baisakh 2082 BS. District-level conventions and those under their jurisdiction will be held in Chaitra of this year, with provincial and central conventions planned for the first month of the next year (Baisakh).

The national assembly, which began yesterday, is set to conclude on Wednesday. The assembly will finalise the date and location for the national general convention.
