Two workers of the Melamchi Water Supply Project have gone missing inside a water supply tunnel of the project.
Sindhupalchok District Police Office chief Prajwal Maharjan says an engineer and a driver are missing.
Currently, the project is testing the efficiency of the tunnel. When a problem occurred, four people had gone inside the tunnel, but they were swept away in water, it has been learned.
Two, however, have been rescued and are undergoing treatment at Melamchi Hospital. Maharjan says a helicopter has been called to airlift them to Kathmandu.
Meanwhile, the police have launched a search to find the missing persons.
