Kathmandu, March 2

The Supreme Court on Monday issued an order in the name of the government to take preventive measures against the potential spread of coronavirus in the country.

Responding to a writ petition filed by advocate Purna Rajbanshi, a single bench of Justice Tej Bahadur KC issued the order. In his petition, the lawyer had demanded that the government make provisions to conduct health checkups of anyone entering Nepal, suspend flights from and to affected countries, stop issuing visas for the citizens of those countries and close all schools and colleges.

The court issued an interim order as the petitioner demanded.
