Ambulance used in spotted deer smuggling

An ambulance provided by the Sudurpaschim provincial government has been found used in smuggling wildlife.

This ambulance (SuPa 01 001 Jha 346) was provided to the Dilasaini rural municipality by the provincial Ministry of Social Development. The ambulance was found carrying a dead spotted deer in course of police checking on Sunday, Police Inspector Khagendra Saud says.

The ambulance was going towards Dilasaini from Kanchanpur when police intercepted it.

According to Saud, the personnel deployed from Gokuleshwar Area Police Office Gokuleshwar found the dead animal inside the ambulance, but it is not known where the animal was brought from.

Police have arrested the driver of the ambulance, Mahesh Bohara, and impounded the ambulance for action. The dead spotted deer has been handed over to the District Forest Office.
