Kathmandu, October 21
The Mohan Baidhya-led CPN has announced that it will boycott the upcoming by-polls for various provincial and municipal posts scheduled for November 30.
Speaking at at press conference in Kathmandu on Monday, party leader CP Gajurel said that the party with its Desh Bhakta Janaganatantrik Alliance will not take part in the elections.
The alliance had taken part in the local, provincial and parliamentary elections. Asked why his party was boycotting elections which it had contested in the past, Gajurel said, “The party takes decided to take part then, now it has decided not to take part.”
Gajurel added that this party was looking for an alternative to the constitution, the government and the system as a whole.
