Gold prices drop by Rs 1,300 in last five days

Kathmandu, March 3

Gold prices have gone down by Rs 1,300 in the past five days as the yellow metal continued to lose its value in the international market.

A tola of gold, which was sold at Rs 62,800 on February 26, came down to Rs 61,500 on Sunday. According to the Federation of Nepal Gold And Silver Dealers Association, the reason for the drop in prices is due to the fall in gold prices in the international market on Saturday.

Gold prices have dropped by $20 per ounce in the international market. Similarly, the price of silver has also gone down by Rs 10. Around 18-20 kilogram gold are bought and sold daily in Nepal. However, gold dealers have said that people have stopped buying gold recently due to the price hike.
