Kathmandu, February 19
Enterprise- Business Acceleration Program, the flagship accelerator program of One to Watch (OTW), hosted its Demo Day in Kathmandu at Soaltee Crowne Plaza on Monday. A total of ten companies pitched their businesses to a selected group of banks, angel investors, venture capitalists and private equity funds, in Nepal and will the same at the Nepali Embassy in London on February 22.
Enterprise through its intensive mentorship-based program makes sure that all the businesses are investment ready and provides them with the necessary tools to scale-up. In 12 weeks, the companies have worked with experienced mentors and industry experts to fine-tune their business models and build a strong financial plan.
“Our main aim is to help small and medium-size businesses reach their full potential. If these companies are guided properly, they have the potential to help Nepal’s economy grow,” said Willem Grimmink, Managing Director of Enterprise.
The ten companies who were part of the demo day were AeroRoots, Burger Shack, Green Roads Waste Management, Hajuri Khadya Udhyog, No Chini, Helmets Nepal, Leaf Plus, Onion Films Nepal, SeedLand Nepal and The Mint Studio.
Speaking at the event Amod Rajbhandari, Director, Accelerator and Entrepreneurship Development at Enterprise thanked all the partners and mentors who helped make the event a success. “We have put these companies through a lot and I’m sure they have learned a lot over the past 12 weeks. Now they need the help of the investors and I hope they will get some by the end of the night,” he said.
Demo Day London will be a part of a larger conference, Nepal Development Conference: Investment Opportunities in Nepal, which is jointly organized by One to Watch and the Embassy of Nepal, London. The conference will be held at the Embassy of Nepal in London on 22 February.
The Key Note Address of the conference will be delivered by Hon. Dr, Yuba Raj Khatiwada, Minister of Finance, Government of Nepal.
