Darbarmarg ‘rape’ case: Alleged victim says it was sex in consent

Kathmandu, February 1

The alleged victim of a gang rape case that reportedly occurred at a hotel in Darbarmarg of Kathmandu last week now says she was not raped, but had actually consented to have the sex.

Earlier, the victim had reportedly complained that she was raped by her boyfriend and his three friends. She, then, had disappeared, pushing the investigation into uncertainty.

The woman came to the contact of police today and said it was not a forced sex, according to investigators.

The Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, has formed a team under the command of SP Ram Datta Joshi to look into the case.

Police, however, have taken her statement suspiciously and say she might have changed her voice after receiving a hefty sum from the alleged perpetrators.

On the other hand, another investigation is underway about why police officials at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Darbarmarg, released the suspects without a probe.
