Kathmandu, March 7
Five persons including a newborn were found dead in a village in the Lalitpur district, south of the Kathmandu valley, on Monday morning. The deceased belong to the same family.
Whereas four persons were found already dead inside the house at Nallu, Konjyosom rural municipality-4 of the district, one was found in critical condition, who also died after some minutes.
Police say 55-year-old Kaili Syangtan, nine-year-old Ashish, 23-year-old Susma, and seven-year-old Asma were found dead. A two-day-old baby was found critical, who died during treatment.
Meanwhile, Shubha Tamang (22) is undergoing treatment.
Police have suspected all of them died of asphyxiation. SP Siddhi Bikram Shah says forensic experts from Patan Hospital have identified carbon poisoning as the cause of the death.
