Indian man arrested with gold worth over Rs 7 million

Makwanpur, July 14

An Indian man has been arrested in Hetauda, central Nepal with 1.5 kg of smuggled gold.

According to police the man from East Chamarpan, Bihar, Suman Kumar (35) was heading to the border town on Birgunj on a Tata Sumo (Na 1 Ja 4029) when police intercepted his vehicle at Ratamate in Hetauda on Friday morning.

Police said that the gold he was carrying is worth over Rs 7 million in the market.

Kumar has been sent to the Tax Investigation Department in Bara for further investigation.
