Kathmandu, September 16
A helicopter belonging to NBC Los Angeles crashed in the San Fernando Valley in Chatsworth, California, on Tuesday night, killing three people.
According to Los Angeles firefighters, the incident occurred Tuesday evening in the 9100 block of Mason Avenue, where the helicopter crashed between two commercial buildings. It landed on two shipping containers and several parked vehicles.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. Aerial footage showed a large fire following the crash, with flames spreading to nearby parked vehicles. Los Angeles firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control.
After the fire was extinguished, firefighters and Los Angeles police placed a tent over one of the bodies at the scene.
LAFD officials later confirmed that two other people also died at the crash site. Two additional people who were injured were taken to a local hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.
