Kathmandu, March 7
About two million children (9 months to 15 years) have been vaccinated in the nationwide Measles-Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign conducted by the government.
According to Dr Abhiyan Gautam, Head of the Child Health and Immunisation Branch, out of 5,742,993 children, about two million have been vaccinated in the initial stage.
According to him, as per the preliminary report of 44 districts, about 34 per cent have been vaccinated. Thirty-one districts have not yet submitted their reports. “Even in those districts that have sent reports, some have recently conducted campaigns,” he said.
The vaccination campaign has not started in Manang and Mustang because of cold weather. The vaccination campaign began on February 25 and will continue till March 20.
