Janakpurdham, June 29
Two persons have died in two lightning strike incidents in Manarasiswa municipality of the Mahottari district in southeastern Nepal on Monday.
The victims have been identified as Prem Shila Devi (59) from Sadha, ward 4 of the municipality, and Bisheshwar Raya (80) from Kataiya, ward 5. Devi was working in her field whereas Raya was grazing the cattle when the thunderbolt struck them.
Both died on the spot, informs Prakash Bista, the District Police Office spokesperson.
Meanwhile, a person sustained injuries due to lightning in the municipality. She has been identified as Aasha Kumari Yadav (12), a resident of ward 4. She was also grazing the cattle.
Yadav is undergoing treatment at a local clinic.
