18 tola of gold jewellery stolen from shop in Nawalparasi

Nawalparasi, January 9

Thieves broke the shutter and stole gold jewellery weighing around 18 tola (one tola = 11.66 gm) from the shop of Sher Bahadur Sunar at Danda-16, Nawalparasi district, on Sunday night, police said.

The stolen ornaments include rings, chains and Mangal Sutra.

thief-chorSunar, the owner of Madhyabindu jewellery shop, came to know about the theft when he came to open it at around 8 am. Upon finding the shutter broken and the gold jewellery gone, he informed police.

Police have initiated an investigation and taken two unidentified suspects under control.

On Friday night itself, thieves broke into Everest Electronics at Thanachok of Nawalparasi district and fled with electronic goods, including LCD TV. Owner Yam Thapa came to know about the theft when he arrived at the shop at around 8 am to open it.

Police are investigating the case.
