Solukhumbu, August 16
Hundreds of tourists have been stranded in Lukla, home to the ‘highest airport’ in the world, after flights to and from the area remain cancelled for eight consecutive days.
Most of the tourists waiting for the weather to clear are those who have returned from the Khumbu region.
Some of the tourists have started trek to Phaplu, which is connected to the national road network, to get to Kathmandu.
