Not a single complaint filed against five ambassador nominees

Kathmandu, January 14

The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee says it did not receive any complaint against five persons who have been nominated for the vacant positions of Nepali ambassadors to various missions.

Earlier on January 2, the Committee had called members of the public to file complaints against Deepak Adhikari nominated for France, Durga Prasad Bhandari nominated for Kuwait, Bhrigu Dhungana nominated for Canada, Mani Prasad Bhattarai nominated for the United Nations in Geneva and Ganesh Prasad Dhakal nominated for Thailand.

They all are working as joint secretaries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs currently.

The public were asked to file complaints within next 10 days, but the panel did not receive any by the deadline of Sunday, according undersecretary Keshav Aryal

The panel is preparing to carry out a hearing session with them Wednesday or Thursday this week, Aryal says.
