Kathmandu, November 23
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari says he will submit all documents related to the purchase of two wide body aircraft for the national flag carrier, National Airlines Corporation, to a parliamentary committee within next 24 hours.
The Minister’s statement comes at a time when the International Relations Committee in the House of Representatives launched a probe into reported irregularities in the deal.
Minister Adhikari, who faced a series of questions from lawmakers during the Committee’s meeting on Friday afternoon, also stated that the Ministry would fully cooperate to the probe the Committee launches.
He reiterated that the agreement to purchase the aircraft was finalised before he took over as the minister, but maintained he was ready to take the moral responsibility.
He also expressed his happiness that the Committee beginning the investigation into the matter of public concern was positive.
