Congress is restless fearing the end of its golden era: Leftist alliance

Leaders of CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre unveil their election manifesto in Kathmandu on Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

Kathmandu, November 7

Leaders of the leftist alliance have commented on Tuesday that the Nepali Congress is restless after learning about possible unity of major communist party as the unification will end the ‘golden era of luxury’ that the Congress has been enjoying till the date.

Leaders of the CPN-UML and the CPN-Maoist Centre have clarified that the rumours created by the Congress that the unified communist party would establish authoritarianism in the country were baseless and the rumours just exposed the defeated mentality of the Congress.

Making public the joint manifesto prepared for upcoming provincial and federal parliamentary elections, the parties have said they are committed to promoting democracy and there is no need to doubt the alliance’s commitment to democratic values including multiparty competition, independent judiciary and periodic elections.

UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had addressed the press conference organised to unveil the manifesto.
