Kathmandu, August 20

The constitutional anti-corruption body, Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), says various public utilities under the government ownership are providing ‘irregular’ facilities to its staff regularly.

A recent investigation launched by the Commission says Dairy Development Corporation has been providing one litre milk every day and one kilo ghee every month to each member of staff.

Likewise, Nepal Airlines Corporation provides four round trip tickets to each staffer every year. They also get three additional tickets at 90 per cent discount.

Nepal Telecom provides limited telephone and internet services to its staff free of cost.

Nepal Oli Corporation would also provide such facilities to its staff free of cost earlier, but it has now stopped, according to the Commission.

The anti-graft body informs that Nepal Water Supply Corporation and Nepal Electricity Authority have also been providing huge discounts to its staff on water and power tariffs.
